Each lake page lists the country or countries on its shores, surface area, maximum depth and water type (freshwater, saline, reservoir and others), followed by notes on its wildlife, history and records. Search by lake name or country, or start from the largest and deepest lakes on the home page. Areas of reservoirs and shrinking lakes vary from year to year, so treat figures as approximate.
